In “The Happiness Project,” author Gretchen Rubin cites studies showing that consistently grateful people are happier and more satisfied with their lives – they even feel more physically healthy and spend more time exercising.

She also shows how gratitude can improve the way we feel:

  • It makes you less likely to feel envy, because you’re grateful for what you already have
  • Gratitude makes it easier for us to live within our means
  • Being grateful makes it more easier for you to be generous to others

Once you start seeing the benefits of being grateful, you may find one more thing to be grateful for: the very act of gratitude itself.
